During the celebration of the Chinese New Year, the use of symbols is important. To gain a better understanding of the use of symbols in China, I first discuss the concept of culture. I then describe important symbols during the New Year celebrations in China. Such knowledge is important for doing things the right way and communicating better with Chinese customers and partners. In the last part of the article, I go through some words and expressions that you can use during the holidays.
Kinesisk er det klart mest utbredte morsmålet i verden, og Kina spiller en stadig viktigere rolle i verdensøkonomien. Det var i 2017 i følge Verdens økonomiske forum (WEF) cirka like mange med A. kinesisk som 'morsmål' (mǔyǔ 母语, norsk uttale: mo-y) som totalen av de med B. spansk, C. engelsk, D. arabisk og E. hindi som morsmål.
Kinesisk er et tonespråk med mange homonymer (fra gresk homoios = identisk og onoma = navn, ord med forskjellige meninger men med samme uttale). Forskjellige uttaler betyr at det er forskjellige tegn med forskjellig mening. Når vi snakker kinesisk er det derfor viktig at tonen er korrekt. Det er fire toner i det kinesiske språket:
